Circa 1946 Babe Ruth Single-Signed Baseball (PSA)

Babe Ruth signed this personalized Official American League Baseball (Harridge) circa 1946. The Babe retired in the 1935 season with a then-record 714 home runs, and a lifetime .342 batting average, plus a marvelous record as a pitcher in his early years with the Boston Red Sox. He was one of the five inaugural inductees to the Baseball Hall of Fame. He had always wanted to manage in the majors, but in 1946 he still had not gotten the opportunity, and he never would. In the fall of '46, Ruth began to get pains behind his left eye. At first, doctors could not figure out what was causing the pain. Eventually, Babe's illness would turn out to be cancer. So, this Official American League (Harridge) baseball was signed around the time, either before or after, that Ruth began to be ill. Still ahead for the Babe would be his famous "Farewell Speech" at Yankee Stadium in 1947, and his attendance at Yankee Stadium during the 1947 World Series between the Yankees and the Brooklyn Dodgers. The ball is in excellent condition. Ruth's signature, signed in blue ink, rates 6.5/10. Simply put, here is an opportunity to possess a baseball signed by Babe Ruth. Comes with PSA LOA.
