Circa 1954 Jackie Robinson Handwritten Letter (PSA MINT 9)

In his letter, written to his agent Martin Stone on "The Brooklyn Dodgers" (Dodgertown, Vero Beach, Florida) letterhead, Robinson discusses retirement from baseball, future employment, and his wife's health after losing a baby. In part: "I am not sure just what I want to do when I finish ball. Besides the LOOK offer I have had one from Schenly Distillers that has a pretty promising future providing they give me the things I asked for which would include a well laid out boys camp or just a camp.... I don't know how long I'll stick in this game. I still would like to end it soon.... Rae was very sick for a week. We lost a baby and she did not go to a doctor right away. She's fine now however and we are both relieved actually she cannot afford to have another child so perhaps it was best." Signed simply "Jackie." both the text and signature are scripted in blue fountain pen. The letter (7.25x10.5"), which has two notebook holes along the top border, displays two horizontal folds.
