Fine grouping of material signed by noted historical figures from the 1780s to the 1990s: 1961 LBJ TLS on VP stationery, 1954 LBJ TLS on Senate stationery, 1961 RFK postal cover as Atty. Gen., Pres. George H Bush signed trading card, Pres. Eisenhower signed WH card, 1868 Pres. R.B Hayes ALQS on State of Ohio stationery ("A Close Mouth Makes Like a Wise Heart"), Pres. Nixon signed WH card, LBJ 8x10'' photo as Pres. (pers.), 1941 William S Hart 3-page TLS to Rudy Vallee, 1961 Pres. JFK TLS (secretarial), 1982 VP Bush signed card, Pres. Nixon signed " Memoirs of Richard Nixon," 1931 Aviator James C Fitzmaurice TLS, aviator Roscoe Turner postal cover, (4) aviator Frank Hawks Airmail covers from 1930s (one double signed), Senator Mike Mansfield signed JFK Eulogies booklet, Cardinal Cushing signed Invocations in Memory of JFK booklet, 1849 U.S. Treasurer Francis Spinner check, and (4) 1787 Beverly Randolph signed Virginia Documents. Unsigned items include JFK Funeral Card with envelope and 1898 Mutual Life remittance on President Taft. Fine condition with bold signatures. Most importantly are two General Winfield Scott letters about gathering intelligence of possible Indian attacks on the western frontier. Both are to General Brady. In the 1838 letter he instructs him to report on "all recent & apprehended events which may be interesting to the service." In the 1839 he discusses the $500,000 Congress appropriated for "the protection of the northwestern frontier." Signatures are a strong 7/10 and have stood up over the test of time.
