Don Mattingly High School Yearbook
Don Mattingley Senior Yearbook 1979 Reitz Memorial High School, Evansville, IN. You get a special treat of seeing Don as both a Junior and a Senior in this book! Because this yearbook was sent to the printer before Don's Senior year baseball season was finished, it carries a wonderful two page color spread featuring Don on the Reitz Indiana State Championship team for the prior year. Thus you are seeing Don as both a Junior (in this color baseball shot) and as a Senior (in the remainder of the book)! This copy is in near-mint condition, has no writing at all and only has two minor defects (an edge bump on one of the cover corners and a 2 inch tear on one page which was taped and does not come anywhere near any of Don's pages). There are no cutouts, there is no moisture damage and no pages are missing. Don appears with two photos in the Basketball section (on "action" shot and then an excellent posed team photo). He has a super posed individual head photo in the Senior section (and his activity list is in the index). He also shows up as being quite the "comedian" in two candids which picture him as part of a group in the Homecoming Talent Show called the "Worms" (a takeoff on the Beatles?) with a stocking on his head as well as another shot of him doing a comic routine with two classmates at a Pep Assembly. The Yankees retired #23, thereby designating him as one of their all-time GREATS!<b> </b>
