Duke Kahanamoku 1912 Stockholm Olympics Wins Gold Medal Program

Duke Kahanamoku 1912 Stockholm Olympics Wins Gold Medal Program

This stunning, original official daily program for swimming originates from the July 10, 1912, Olympic Games in Stockholm, Sweden. On that day, Duke Kahanamoku captured the first of his five Olympic medals, with this coming in the 100 meter freestyle. The incredibly rare eight-page program measures 5.75x9" on lightweight blue coated stock, it is stapled at the fold and has a tear along one staple that goes through the booklet. In addition to his swimming prowess, Kahanamoku's legend was secured as the native of Hawaii is widely considered to have popularized the sport of surfing.
