Early Boxing Books Including 1793 Bound Edition of Sporting Magazine (5)
This is a group five early volumes covering boxing in the 18th and 19th centuries. The highlight is a bound volume of Sporting Magazine for 1792-1793 which was distributed by John Wheele. Also includes a fair copy of Pierce Egan's "The Art of Self Defence" (1851-London), a poor Sporting Chronicle Annual for 1896, a fair copy of "How To Box," published by Wehman Bros., and incomplete fair volume of "Boxiana" by Pierce Egan. A rare offering of difficult to find boxing material.
