Early Photographs from the Bob Ganley Collection (16)

Early Photographs from the Bob Ganley Collection (16)

Assorted collection of vintage baseball prints and picture post cards (circa early 1900’s) from the family of outfielder Robert S. Ganley, whose most noteworthy play was as a team captain of the Washington Senators (1907-09), with pitching legend Walter Johnson, who figures in some of these 16 images. The posts, addressed to Ganley’s wife, are the most precious and rare, most of the Senator team clowning around the beach with seaweed in their hair. Other photos, quite smaller, picture Ganley at practice, as well as a 1906 snapshot of him with some of his Pittsburgh Pirate teammates (and quite possibly Honus Wagner). Lastly includes, in a nice overview of Ganley’s career in the Majors and Minors, five larger (avg. 8x10”) team photos of his participation in the Pirates (pictured just above Honus Wagner), the Senators (2), the Eastern team photo and the Newark Indians. This is one of four separate lots available from the family of Ganley, and comes with LOA from the family.
