1910 Newark Real Photo Postcard with Iron Man McGinnity & Rube Waddell (2)
The 1910 Newark Indians, a Minor League team, is showcased on this picture post card, and its corresponding 8x10" copy, with standout member, manager/player and pitching star from the New York Giants, Joe McGinnity front and center, with 19 of his teammates encircling, including 1905 Triple Crown winning pitcher Rube Waddell (from the Philadelphia Athletics), and the player from whose personal belongings these vintage items originate, outfielder Robert S. (Bob) Ganley. Postcard composite has original writing on front bottom, “This was taken in Buffalo N.Y". Postmarked on verso “Sept 23, 9:30 PM, 1910". Postcard condition is VG-EX, with light wrinkle, corner wear and light surface impressions. 8x10" copy was produced later and yet sometime ago. This is one of four separate lots available from the family of Ganley, and includes LOA from family.
