Ed Mio Game Worn Edmonton Oilers Jersey
While Wayne Gretzky was scoring goals, Oilers goalie Eddie Mio was stopping them for three seasons with Edmonton, two of them in the NHL. This Mio game-worn jersey from 1980-81 is a piece of pre-dynasty history. Mio posted a 16-15-1 record with the Oilers that season but was in the minors the next. He never minded the net for Edmonton during its Stanley Cup dominance but he sure could get a collar dirty. Sandow Sporting Knit ventilated poly has classic Oilers design and one of the shortest nameplates in hockey history. Popped threads, a stick slash on the left sleeve and other signs of moderate use. Mio (a future Ranger), Gretzky and Peter Driscoll were traded to Edmonton from the Indianapolis Racers for cash and future considerations. Even if the Great One weren't included, we think the Oilers would have gotten the better of the deal anyway.
