Eddie Shore's 1962-63 Springfield Indians Jacket
AHL Springfield Indians jacket was worn by Mr. Hockey, Eddie Shore during the 1962-63 season. Shore bought the Springfield Indians in 1939 while still an active Boston Bruins legend, hoping to play on both teams. This would never come to be as he was released a short time later by a displeased Boston front office. The Edmonton Express proceeded to coach and play for the Indians, leading them to dominance in the legendary Easter States Coliseum. Blue button-down jacket adorned with “Springfield Indians” in blue scripted embroidery on red felt patch on the left breast. Right sleeve bears the embroidered crossed American & Canadian “Union Jack” flags emblem. Left sleeve with “AHL Champs 59-60, 60-61, 61-62” patch. Best is the inscription penned by Eddie Shore, Jr. on the front in black felt tip: “This jacket was worn by my father during the 1962-63 season - Eddie Shore, Jr.” Tagged inside front tail, “Empire Sporting Goods, NY”. Shows good use and wear. It is medium size.
