Fine Condition Darktown Battery Mechanical Bank

Fine Condition Darktown Battery Mechanical Bank

Here's a fine specimen with moving mechanical figures atop this desired cast iron bank, patented by James H. Bowen of Philadelphia and manufactured by J. & E. Stevens. Though it does bear imagery that today would be considered offensive, it is of current value to persons of all colors, shapes and sizes. The functioning, spring-loaded, push-button coin bank features a pitcher, batter, and catcher engaging in a spirited game, all depicted in these classic stereotypes. This piece is in fine condition with no repairs and retains 90% of its original paint. One of the nicer ones you will see!
