Framed Cardinals Retired Uniform Numbers

Framed Cardinals Retired Uniform Numbers

Sometimes, all it takes to rekindle magic memories is a number – or eight very special numbers, if Cardinals history makes your skin sprout goose bumps. These eight framed mockups of Cardinal jerseys bearing the club’s retired uniform numbers represent around eight decades of that history. They were a staple of the Busch Stadium home locker room, hung one next to another high above the room on a crossbeam. The numbers: 1 (Ozzie Smith), 2 (Red Schoendienst), 6 (Stan Musial), 9 (Enos Slaughter), 14 (Ken Boyer), 17 (Dizzy Dean), 20 (Lou Brock), and 45 (Bob Gibson). All are mounted in wood frames 17” tall and 24” wide, with the frames detailed by Western-style ridges. Overall, VG-EX condition, producing not only memories but, as a group inspiration – no matter whose wall they wind up on. <br>(Estimate $1,500 - $2,000)
