Great Collection of St. Louis Browns Game Worn Caps (8)
We have here the best collection of game-worn St. Louis Browns caps that you will find. The first is from the mid-1930s and was worn by pitcher Ed Linke. "Rawlings" is stamped in silver on the head band and a felt "SL" is sewn on front. The second piece we have is an early- to mid-1940s white "home" model with stripes that was produced for a 1960s old timer's game. Next up is from around 1944 - a home cap, white model, with the player's number (17) sewn into the band. A grey "road" cap, circa 1946-49 was worn by pitcher Denny Galehouse and has a Rawlings tag inside. Another cap, same as the last, was worn by an unidentified team member. This lot also includes a white "home" hat, circa 1946-49 with a Rawlings tag inside; a circa-1951 model also with a Rawlings tag, and an all-brown 1952-53 model with a white logo on the front. Most of these caps are in nice condition, while some have tears and wear to the head bands and cracked brims.
