Despite alcohol problems and epilepsy, which left him partially deaf, Grover Alexander carved out a Hall of Fame career, compiling 328 wins using a graceful, seemingly effortless pitching motion with pinpoint control. His 16 shutouts in a single season is the all-time ML record. Shown here in his glory days playing for the Philadelphia Phillies, “Pete” is shown warming up before a game.
