Hall of Fame Old Timers Ball With Cobb, Foxx, Hornsby and Grove

Hall of Fame Old Timers Ball With Cobb, Foxx, Hornsby and Grove

For all the profound signatures on its surface, this Hall of Fame Old Timers Ball from the ‘50s should be about as heavy as a shot-put. Just consider the names here. Start with Ty Cobb -- who was in the 1936 first class of inductees at Cooperstown -- who signed with his familiar line underscoring his name. Then move on to Rogers Hornsby, whose marker is as gruff and bold as the man was himself, taking over the sweet spot. Then marvel at the autographs of Lefty Grove, Paul Waner, Joe Cronin, Jimmie Foxx, Frank (Home Run) Baker, and Ray Schalk. Vintage signatures are in light blue ink (Waner in dark blue ink), and though they’re somewhat faded they all resonate with enough history to fill a textbook. Technically the grading averages 6/10 (Waner is the best at 7/10) but will display with incredible visxual appeal, more so since the OAL (Harridge) ball has remained impressively bright with light soiling visible only at close distance and overall is EX-MT, offering a nice contrast for the signatures of these 8 magnificent Hall of Fame legends.
