The NY Yankees HOF pitcher, Lefty Gomez, is the subject of this interesting collection of wire photos dating from the mid 1930's and his marriage to actress June O'Dea to the report of his death in 1989. From the archives of the San Francisco Examiner, many of the photos have their original caption sheets or news captions affixed to versos. No game action photos here. Instead, great images of Gomez with his wife and kids, few taken during spring training workouts in the gym and a number as an old-timer. Measure 5x7 to 8.5 13". Overall condition ranges from VG to MT.
