Historic 1965 Game Used Baseball from Satchel Paige's Last Game
This game ball is from Satchel Paige's final career game September 25, 1965. Paige came out of retirement to pitch three scoreless innings for the Kansas City Athletics at age 59. Negro League historian John Holway was given this Official American League (Cronin) ball from former Negro Leaguer and friend Bill Drake, who wrote "Old K.C Blues K.C Monarchs Sept 25 KC, MO" on the sweet spot. It's signed by 21 including Gabby Hartnett (A's coach), Whitey Herzog and Bill Drake. There are two small holes in the back of the ball, which comes with notarized LOA from John Holway. As a historic bonus, included is a pair of baseballs given by Holway to Drake from barnstorming games in the Midwest in the 1930s, with scores inscribed by Drake.
