The 42,269 fans who attended the inaugural game at Candlestick Park were treated to a 3-1Giants win. Images include: Richard Nixon shaking hands with Willie Mays (great image!), fans, vendors with souvenirs, Richard Nixon's 1st pitch, Nixon with other players, visiting Cardinals players, Sam Jones pre-game and post-game (he won the game), Mays signing autographs, views of the stadium interior, fans arriving, Horace Stoneham, Warren Giles, and more. Also, a handful of negatives from the first night game played a few days later are included here, but not in the above count. Sizes range from 35mm to 4 x 5’’ with most measuring 4 x 5’’. Mint.
