Before Buffalo had its own NHL team it had the Buffalo Bisons of the AHL. With a limited number of NHL teams to play for, some of hockey's greatest skated for teams in the minor league AHL. The Bisons were a powerful force during the 1958-59 season. Here is proof: A Buffalo Bisons AHL 1959 championship banner that once hung above their home ice in the Buffalo Auditorium. Measuring approximately 9ft x 19ft, the banner is off-white cotton canvas with red and blue appliqued designs and letters. The design includes the classic Bisons logo. The edges are run through with heavy rope for its display. There is some minor spotting and a few small holes from its years of display, but overall the condition is excellent with bright graphics.
