Incredible 1912 Image Of Arthur Fletcher

Incredible 1912 Image Of Arthur Fletcher

Arthur Fletcher played for 13 seasons in the NL, almost entirely with the New York Giants. This particular photo shows him poised to pounce on a pitch during batting practice. You can make out every detail on his uniform and the determination on his face is clear as day in this outstanding image. It also captures the batting cage perfectly with a player behind it studying the scene. Behind Fletcher in this NRMT photo (7-1/8 X 4-7/8”) we see players warming up and a backdrop of an empty stadium with bunting draped from the entire upper deck. Verso stamp “Arthur Fletcher. (Aide Photo.) From the N.Y. Herald Syndicate.” It also bears a stamp of the date (Sep 20 1912).
