John McGraw 1920 New York Giants Photo By Bain

John McGraw 1920 New York Giants Photo By Bain

John McGraw played for fifteen years and managed forever, compiling an astonishing 2,866 wins (2nd among all Major League managers). Standing 5’7”, Little Napolean pushed the right buttons to get the most out of his players. In this fantastic press photo, a stoic McGraw clutches a piece of lumber and appears to see something on the practice field that is not to his liking. I’m sure that player might have rode the pines for a game or two. Dated August 10, 1920, Bain News Service and marked original by Culver Pictures, Inc. it’s truly one of a kind for the HOF manager. EX with small tear on lower left border only, 5 X 7”.
