Large Collection of Boxing Books and Magazines
This lot includes more than 100 books and more than 90 magazines, the majority of which deal with the sport of boxing. Notable hard cover titles in boxing include: Round By Round by Jack Dempsey, Give Him To The Angels by Fair, Ring Battles Of The Century by Andrews, Boxer And The Banker by McConnell (about Billy Conn), Ruby Robert by Davis, 2 Muldoon by Van Every, Relief To Royalty by Lud (the story of Jimmy Braddock), Galento The Great by Donovan, The Art of Boxing by Edwards (1888), Black Dynamite Volumes I-V by Fleischer, and Bound Volumes of the Everlast Record Books including 1922-23 (1st year), 1924-25, 1926-28 (2), 1929-31, 1932-33. There is also an interesting hard cover album with 45 original photographs of obscure fighters of the early 20th century including some French fighters (some of which are signed). In soft cover in fair condition, there is: The Life & Battles of Jack Johnson by Fox, and in excellent condition there is Jack McAuliffe by Fleischer. There are a few non-boxing titles, the most significant of which are two volumes of the German Olympic Book for 1936. The magazine collection features loose copies of Boxiana Review, Boxing & Wrestling, KO, Boxing Illustrated, and Sports Illustrated (many of which have covers of Mike Tyson). This lot also includes a nice tribute to a Young Corbett III.
