Lou Gehrig "Luckiest Man" Speech Program

Lou Gehrig "Luckiest Man" Speech Program

Just two months after his "Iron Man" streak of consecutive games ended at 2,130, Lou Gehrig famously addressed fans at Yankee Stadium, calling himself "the luckiest man on the face of the earth." This was the program for that Fourth-of-July doubleheader vs. the Washington Senators (coincidentally the same opponent Gehrig faced in his final game on April 30). The Hall of Fame legend is still listed on the roster inside. Even without their superstar first baseman, the Yankees ran away with the American League pennant and swept the Cincinnati Reds for yet another World Series crown.
