Maury Wills baseball photos (28)

Maury Wills baseball photos (28)

In 1962 Maury Wills stole 104 bases in a single season and broke a record many thought was unbreakable. This collection of (28) wire photos has many images from that famous season and others, including his time as manager of the Seattle Mariners and as a baseball analyst for NBC in the 1980's. Notable images: Wills is photographed in 1962 holding as baseball autographed by Ty Cobb, a gift from Fred Haney; also in 1962 Wills is captured picking a banjo at the baseball writers dinner; in 1963 he was photographed face to face with another fleet-footed creature-a roadrunner- while at spring training in New Mexico. Condition ranges from VG to MT. All are front captioned wire photos with a handful from the 80's on laser paper. Many have original news clippings affixed to versos. Sizes range from 5 x 8" to 8 x 11".
