Mid-1980s Bernie Kosar Cleveland Browns Game Worn Jersey w/Handwarmer Pocket
Presented is a mid-1980s Bernie Kosar Cleveland Browns white game worn jersey, with a handwarmer pocket. Kosar won a National Collegiate Championship with Miami University in 1983. In the NFL, he played with the Cleveland Browns from 1985-93, the Dallas Cowboys in 1993, when he was the back-up quarterback to Troy Aikman on the Super Bowl XXVIII squad, and the Miami Dolphins from 1994-96. In the NFL, Kosar was a 2-time Pro Bowler and had a 53-54-1 record. He completed passes for 23,301 yards, for 124 touchdowns and 87 interceptions. In the last two years of his NFL career, Kosar was a back-up quarterback on the Miami Dolphins, backing up Dan Marino. Kosar brought the Dolphins a trick play that Marino used to defeat the New York Jets in a crucial late-season 1994 game. Near the end of the game with the clock winding down and the Dolphins trailing by three points, Marino faked a spike of the football and then threw the winning touchdown pass to the Dolphins' Mark Ingram. The front of the jersey shows "19" in brown-colored sewn on numerals. Each sleeve has "19" in brown numerals sewn on and brown and orange stripes under the numerals. The back has "KOSAR" in brown letters sewn on. and under the name is "19" in brown numerals sewn on. The left outside tail has two tags: the top tag is a Sand-Knit manufacturers' tag reading "Designed & Tailored Exclusively for the Cleveland Browns/American Football Conference." The lower tag reads, "Sand-Knit" and "44," for size. The jersey shows great game use, with a few small stains, possibly of blood or dirt, and also some loose threads. Overall, the jersey is in excellent condition. This game worn Bernie Kosar jersey seems to portend continuing interest through the upcoming years, as Kosar was voted the most popular Cleveland Brown in history in an Oct. 18, 2019, Browns Nation poll of Browns' fans.
