Minnie Minoso Cuban Baseball Artifacts w/his 1947 New York Cubans Presentation Clock (25 pieces)
Amazing material from cult favorite Minnie Minoso, most from his days in his Cuban homeland. Includes a beautiful lot of 17 Type I 1940s-50s vintage photos of him and the Marianao Tigers by great Cuban photographers including Salas (awards banquets and ceremonies, eating in sports theme restaurant, with the great Cuban photographers - Salas?, trophy presentation, on the field, with 1952 Championship pennant and more, most 8x10"); 1955 Cuban gun permit' 1952 White Sox player's insurance policy; 1956 Cadillac car insurance and more. Best of all is a clock awarded to him in 1947 for his outstanding achievements as an All-Star third baseman with the New York Cubans. Signed on wooden base, "Orestes Minnie Minoso," the signature is dated 8/8/98 and is Mint. The clock is beautifully constructed in in early attempt to blend form and function in an award setting. Winged brass birds sit atop heavy gold chrome with a clock insert in the center. Baseballer with a separate bat stands 7" high on a wooden base, electric clock plugs in and works well. Measures 15.75" high and incised "Orestes 'Minnie' Minoso Liga DeBeisbol Profesional Cubana Jugador De Ano 1947." All came directly from Minnie himself.
