Mordecai Brown Photograph

Mordecai Brown Photograph

Fantastic circa 1907 image of Mordecai "Three Finger" Brown captures the Hall of Fame righthander in the middle of his wind up. Of particular interest is his hand, with three fingers, is clearly visible. Brown's lifetime 2.06 ERA and his staggering performance in the 1908 World Series are the purest stuff of baseball legend. This 11" x 8" photograph is beautifully mounted on linen and stamped on the back "From the collection of David R. Phillips." The photo was printed off the original negative, most likely at least decade after it was taken, but this wonderfully candid photo looks like it could have been taken yesterday. Condition is a solid EX-MT.
