In his seven years with the Phillies, GCA pitched them to 190 victories. Unreal!!! Had he not served in WW1, he would have easily compiled 400 wins in his career. Charles Conlon captured the man’s attitude right on the money in this once in a lifetime historic snapshot. Alexander always said of the batters he faced, “ they’re up there swinging on my time,” and his expression portrays that swagger. Photo from the archives of Baseball Magazine is marked Alexander (Cubs, sic) Conlon in blue pencil and bears the hologram of Christies 1996 Auction. EX condition with the exception of the “P” on his cap blackened out. Measures 4 1/2 X 5 1/2”.
