All of these 10 stunning photographs are Type I and relate to Native Americans and the sport of baseball. Varying in size from 5x7" to 8x10", the lot includes: 1) John "Chief" Myers, NY Giants (best photo we've seen of him). 2) Charles "Chief" Bender, verso reads "Manager and Pitcher, New Haven Championship, Eastern League Club of 1920." 3) Jack Warhop, New York Highlanders/Yankees. 4) Jim Thorpe with son, Buddy, in 1951 photo by Herb Sharfman. 5) John Moore, Euel "Chief" Moore, and Cy Moore (none of the three are related), of the Philadelphia Phillies in 1934 photo. 6) John Levi, aka Charging Buffalo. 7) George "Chief" Johnson. 8) Ernie "Chief" Koy, Dodgers uniform dates photo between 1938-40. 9) Elon "Chief" Hogsett, Detroit uniform dates 1929-36. 10) Maine nine referred to in vintage attached caption as "Redmen" and "aboriginies." These photos were part of the 1996 Christie's auction of Baseball Magazine photos, and each has a BB Mag hologram on the verso.
