New York Yankees Collection (10)
We're in a New York Yankees State of Mind. A great starting point for a Yankees collection or a great addition to an existing one. A Gartlan limited-edition (694/2214), cold-cast figurine of <u>Joe DiMaggio </u>entitled "The Yankee Clipper" in original packaging (NR-MT). A potpourri of Yankees memorabilia, framed (16-1/8 x 12-1/8") and mounted on cotton. Items include: Three 1-1/4" discs of Roger Maris, <u>Yogi Berra </u>and Elston Howard. Two 5-5/8" mini Louisville Slugger pens, one with the Yankees logo, the other with a Mantle signature and "Be a Wonder Winner." A Babe Ruth 60th home run souvenir pen knife. A Yankees patch (3"). Two Yankees buttons, the smaller one with a ribbon hanging from it (3-3/8" and 1-5/8"). A Mantle MVP 1956-57 card. A Jerry Coleman button (1-5/8"). A Mantle painted card (4 x 3-5/8"). A button of Gil Hodges has snuck in here too (1-3/4"). Also in the collection, a bar of Ivory soap from the Joplin, Missouri Holiday Inn with Mantle's name on it along with a drawing of him swinging. Sixteen Dormand Post Cards of Yankees including Mantle, Ford, Martin, Woodling, McDougald, Sain, Coleman, Reynolds. <u>Pee Wee Reese </u>and Carl Furillo are also in this group. A Fedtro Intercom with Mantle endorsement in its original display. Official AL Ball (William Harridge) signed by 1945 Yankees (21). Dickey, Gordon, Crosetti, Bonham, Russo, Stirnweiss, Hemsley, Lindell and Joe McCarthy (clubhouse). EX. Three Hartland figurines from approx. 1958: <u>Ruth</u> and <u>Mantle</u> with the original bats and <u>Berra</u> with the original mask. All are NR-MT. Two used World Series tickets (1936-Game 5, 1938-Game3). Both EX-MT. Nine 12 ounce bottles of "Yankee Beverages" and two wooden "Yankee Beverages" wooden crates (18-1/2 x 12-1/4 x 10-3/8"). A 1928 Mid-Week Pictorial newspaper page with the Babe in cowboy gear astride a car on the field. Gehrig, also clad in cowboy garb, is holding one of the steer horns that sits on the front grill. Page is 10-1/4 x 13-3/8" and 16 x 19-3/4" matted and framed. A framed cover of American Boy magazine from 1935 with a drawing of the Babe in post swing against the background of a large baseball. The picture is 10 x 13". Matted and framed it is 17-1/8 x 21-1/4".
