Nick Altrock Estate Collection

Nick Altrock Estate Collection

Nick Altrock played major league baseball in the early 20th century. At least that’s when he started. He kept appearing in games until he was 57. While he had some impressive short term pitching credentials he is best known as an on the field entertainer. He used to stand in the 3rd base coach’s box and do comedy routines, much to the delight of the fans, and even some of the opposing players. The AL president came to take a look, and while appreciative, issued a cease and desist. This collection comes from his estate and contains 5 b + w photos of Altrock dressed in suit and vest. Photos range from 14 X 11” to 8 X 10”. Also comes with newspaper photo of Altrock and a certificate given to him acknowledging his generous assistance in selling war bonds.
