One-of-a-Kind Ted Williams Neiman Photographic Proof Gifted to Ted Williams
One of the more interesting Ted Williams or Leroy Neiman pieces around. This is the final photgraphic proof that Leroy Neiman gave to Ted Williams to have him approve the final artwork for their 1980 collaborative print. This originated from a business partner of Ted Williams' who Ted gave this to directly. From the painting "Williams at Bat", this is a classic must-have. This masterpiece depicts The Splinter enmeshed in his corkscrew swing, eyes following the path of the ball. It was later signed personally in 1991 by Neiman while he was visiting Ted in Boston, thus making it an outrageously one-of-a-kind piece. On its own merits, this is one of Nieman's best works, with characteristic splashes of color inundating the Williams image and the areas behind him, including Red Sox teammates in the dugout and fans in the stands. Involving two giants, (one of the baseball world, the other of the art world) Neiman has inscribed, "To Ted, Your friend, Leroy Neiman, Boston '91", in black marker. Mint signature above the original signature on the print in green reading "Leroy Neiman '80." The 17 1/2 x 47" crystal clear photographic image is NRMT and brilliantly framed. Takes any Neiman or Williams collection to pantheon levels.
