Pair of Barnum and Bailey 1893 Columbian Exposition Posters (2)

Pair of Barnum and Bailey 1893 Columbian Exposition Posters (2)

In the summer of 1893, 1 out of every 4 people in the United States traveled to Chicago to see the 1893 Columbian Exposition, a celebration of the 400th anniversary of Columbus' discovery of Colombia that showcased the innovative wonders of the 19th century. It was the first self-contained entertainment district. There were concessions, theaters, music, shopping, snake charmers and a circus. It was also the home of the first Ferris wheel, which could hold over 2,000 people at one time. These are two incredible mementos of this great exposition. Two posters (31 x 80") on linen and looking as good as it possibly could. Posters are from Barnum & Bailey's Circus advertising for the Columbian Exposition. You won't believe how vivid the colors remain and the condition of these magnificent pieces. Remembrances of note for the circus and the World's Fair. NRMT
