President Rutherford B. Hayes Signed Presidential Pardon
Timely piece because of the recent pardons by William Jefferson Clinton as outgoing President. This was also done by an outgoing President (Hayes) in his final months in office. Dated March 25, 1880. This is even more unusual as it is for a woman. Handwritten 7x7.5" letter written out for him, authorizes the pardon of "Martha A. Mason alias Martha A. Pollard." Mint signed at the bottom by "R.B. Hayes." Slight browning to top edge o/w Mint. Beautifully framed with real photo of Hayes, overall 21.5x16".
