Previously Uncatalogued 1947 Exhibit Cards with Bomba Gum Advertising Backs (45)
A fabulous new find. These 45 Puerto Rican exhibit cards are exactly the same as the standard 1947 Baseball Exhibits released in the mainland United States. There is one distinct difference however to these. Each of the versos has advertising for Bomba Gum (reference to the Tarzan character). From Puerto Rico, the advertising backs basically translate to: Hey Kids! Wins Prizes with Bomba GumTry Your Luck -- Buy NowDistributor:Victor SallaberryGuanica, P.R.There are 45 cards here: Musial, Slaughter, Schoendienst, Pafko, Reiser, Ennis, Stanky, Trout, Lombardi, Waitkus, Appling, Newhouser, Keltner, Doerr, Cooper, Heath, Dickson, Voiselle, Marion, Barrett, Majeski, Wakefield, Lake, Northey, Higbe, Hopp, Sewell, Passeau, Elliott, Beggs, Grove, Vernon, Brecheen, Lewis, Case, McCormick, Cooper, Holmes, Curtwright, Cavarreta, Borowy, Judnich, Wright, Pesky and Dom DiMaggio. The cards have writing on the backs from the same young Puerto Rican collector who got them way back in 1947 (his name, player name, and team). Otherwise condition is overall EX. A great find and a one-of-a-kind collection that has never been seen previously by collectors in the Caribbean or on the mainland.
