Spectacular collection traces the career of Sadaharu Oh from his earliest days to his retirement from the active game. These vintage images on "boxed" wood frame mounts originally hung in the offices of the Japanese newspaper The Japan Times, aka Yomiuri Shimbun. Each measures about 21x17x1". Quality is magnificent on both the teak wood framing to the images which are mostly Type I. Subject matter is also incredible and ALL show the Babe Ruth of Japan: 1960s Tokyo Giants win 1960s Nippon Series, teary Oh retirement press conference, Oh the rookie on the bench, record breaking and historic home runs including tipping cap for #715 to pass Babe Ruth, joining the Giants press conference wearing his "first" jersey, with Nagashima and other Hall of Fame teammates, traditional Japanese marriage with stunning bride, wins MVP award, Hank Aaron and the famed 1974 home run tour, parents join him in #756 home run celebration to pass Aaron, and many more.
