Sam Rice Signed HOF Postcard
Sam Rice was a HOFer in more ways than one, overcoming the horrific personal tragedy of seeing his parents, wife and children killed in a tornado in 1912. Just 3 years later, he began a sterling career (2,987 hits, .322 average, six 200-hit seasons) in which he starred on the Washington Senators' only 3 pennant teams. Inducted in 1963, Rice signed this 3.5 x 5.5" commemorative HOF postcard in blue ink in the yellow border above his plaque. Hard to find signature has faded a bit but remains a crisp 6/10. Card itself is NRMT.
