Signed Letter From Richard Nixon Calling Bidwill "The Most Stupid Owner In Football"
This 1979 letter to renowned football coach Bud Wilkinson is typed on "Richard Nixon" letterhead and shows Nixon's displeasure at Wilkinson's recent firing by St. Louis Cardinals’ owner Bill Bidwell: "When Rosenbloom fired George Allen, I thought he was the most stupid owner in football. But Bidwill now wins the prize." Letter is signed "RN" and, aside from the usual mailing folds, is NRMT.
