The Babe Is Back Original Wirephoto (1942)

The Babe Is Back Original Wirephoto (1942)

Babe Ruth is pictured here in this 1942 Acme wire photo wielding a towel to mop up the "Ruthian sweat" after a tough workout. He was back in uniform in preparation for his then upcoming duel with pitcher Walter Johnson that took place at Yankee Stadium during a double header to benefit the Army-Navy Relief. The print measures 6" x 8" and is in EX plus condition with strong contrast and a clear image of Ruth. The original caption sheet taped to the verso states that "Ruth still packs his old wallop. Once he got his eye on the ball, the Bam hoisted several into Ruthville".
