Three Lou Gehrig Related Letters

Three Lou Gehrig Related Letters

Master scout Paul Krichell was responsible for the discovery and signing of many Yankees legends, including Lou Gehrig. One of the former major league catcher's letters, as well as one from Gehrig's widow, and NBC sports director Bill Stern - all completely unrelated - comprise this lot that is six degrees of the Iron Horse. Eleanor Gehrig expresses being touched by a doctor's commitment to study medicine as a result of having seen "Pride of the Yankees" while Stern's letter remarks about having seen an illness-ravaged Lou signing autographs in the blazing sun so as not to disappoint children.
