Time Magazine 9/21/61 Yankees Celebrate Clinching Pennant
Great 26 x 37" clubhouse photo of the powerhouse Yankees taken by Life Magazine's Robert Kelly after clinching the 1961 pennant. Roger Maris (who in days would hit homers 60 and 61) is at left, reveling with Elston Howard, manager Ralph Houk, Ralph Terry and Yogi Berra. Notice the cigarettes in Maris' and Berra's hands, something that would be taboo today. The Life stampings are on the back.
