Tommy Henrich Scrapbook Lot
These bulging scrapbooks large and small were compiled and later gifted to "Old Reliable" by residents of his hometown Massillon, Ohio, including 3 ladies who proudly called themselves officers of the "Webster Ave. Henrich fans". Includes newspaper stories, boxscores, etc., from his career capped by his '49 game-winning HR in the WS opener against the Dodgers (a N..Y. Daily News headline screams: "Henrich, 1-0!"). Also many Henrich's personal documents from early 1937 when Commissioner Landis voided his Indians contract after deciding they'd "hidden" him in the minors and made him a free agent. These include some great telegrams from clubowners such as Connie Mack imploring him to call them, collect. In a handwritten letter, he agonized over what to do, before eventually signing with the Yankees. 3 large albums & several smaller ones. Great trivia treat for Yankee fans.
