Tony Esposito's First Pro Shutout Game Puck
Tony Esposito recorded the first of his many pro shutouts playing for the Vancouver Canucks (WHL) on the evening of November 21, 1967. He blanked the San Diego Gulls and went on to become one of the great goaltenders in the NHL. Playing for the Chicago Blackhawks, he set the current record for shutouts in a season (69-70) with 15. The winner of the Calder Cup and the Vezina Trophy, he is the 4th winningest netminder in NHL history. We present here the game puck from that first blanking. The puck, a rare Western League Converse Canucks logo, is a prize in itself. Mounted in a vintage puck stand, it bears an inscribed plaque touting his 1st pro milestone. A true one of a kind piece of hockey history.
