Two Photos From Don Larsen's Perfect Game (1956)

Two Photos From Don Larsen's Perfect Game (1956)

New York Yankee Don Larsen pitched the first and only perfect game in World Series history on October 8, 1956. This pair of wire photos captures the moment. The first image shows Dodger Gil Hodges hopelessly swinging against one of Larsen's blinding pitches in the eighth, with Berra stationed behind the plate. The second has a beaming Larsen receiving congratulations from Yankee owners Webb & Topping in the locker room. Both wire photos measure 8x10" and are EX.
