Ty Cobb Implicated In Gambling Scandal Photo

Ty Cobb Implicated In Gambling Scandal Photo

Crystal clear photo of Cobb at the end of his sweet swing, his eyes focused on a ball disappearing in the distance. All the opposing catcher can do is look on helplessly. Photo (8 x 10") is from 1927 when Cobb was playing with the Philadelphia Athletics at the end of his illustrious career. It was an exhibition game at the Athletics' Spring Training camp in Clearwater, Florida on March 22. Caption on the back mentions being "implicated", a reference to his gambling scandal of 1926, where he and Tris Speaker were accused (and later cleared) of betting on baseball.
