Vic Power Gold Glove Award Lighter

Vic Power Gold Glove Award Lighter

From 1957 to 1964, Vic Power won seven straight Gold Glove Awards for his superb skills at first base. Power was no slouch at the plate, either, collecting 1716 hits in his 12-year career, achieving a lifetime .284 average. This wonderful and nicely-used lighter commemorates his 1964 Award, received while playing for the Minnesota Twins. The cylindrical brass and leather lighter stands 5” high and is 2 ?” in diameter. A brass baseball diamond and glove is affixed at one side, and is enameled in red and black, “Rawlings Gold Glove Award”. A one-inch brass ring encircles the bottom section, and is inscribed “Vic Power 1B / 7th Award / 1964”. The lighter is in original and unrestored condition, and shows its years of regular service, with worn patches in the leather surround, including some missing material. Overall condition is VG.
