Vintage Peterborough Petes Game Worn Jerseys (2)
Vintage and glorious garments, these two Peterborough Petes sweaters glow with use. An especially early one (circa late 1950s) displaying its “TPT” (Toronto Peterborough Transit) with individually stitched cherry red letters upon its deeply tarnished white body, and a raised felt #30 antiqued with age on its shoulders and back. Holes and shredded fabric wounds, thinned sleeves, elaborate team repairs and its share of what appear to be blood stains give this V-neck (with eyelets) a lot of character. A second jersey has no less abuse. Deeper maroon in color, it brags nice stick wear, pilling, stains and some gaping war holes hardly held together by an ancient team repair. Swells “Petes” across chest and an Assistant Captain’s ragged felt “A” on left breast. Very faded Wilson tag with size 46 in collar. A great pair!
