Great classic photo (61/2x81/2") of the "Big Train" wearing the Cleveland Indians' away pinstriped uniform. What makes this photo unique is the image of Johnson holding a bat - a photographic rarity. Walter Johnson is 2nd on the all-time win list (behind Cy Young) with an amazing 2.17 ERA. He recorded 110 career shutouts and had the honor of joining baseball's first class of HOF inductees (1936). Great full-body shot. The pose and look suggest a "larger than life" energy. On the verso is the "International News Photo, Inc" stamp. There is a partial ink fingerprint on the back (some unsuspecting soul incidentally left his signature on this photo).
