Willard Mullin Best Sports Cartoonist Award (9x11”)
The most prestigious award a cartoonist can receive, this plaque was presented to the “Dean of Sports Cartoons” and the creator of the original Brooklyn Bum character. From the National Cartoonist Society the silver plaque decorated with playful characters and mounted on a wood base was given to Willard Mullin in 1960. Sterling silver plate is engraved, “To Willard Mullin Best Sports Cartoonist 1960 from The National Cartoonist Society” ("sterling" engraved onto plate). Includes photo of the presentation ceremony.
