Bettis and Swann and Steelers Jerseys Up for Auction

A 1980 game-worn jersey sported by Pittsburgh Steelers Hall of Fame wide receiver Lynn Swann is among the items up for auction at Lelands.com.

A portion of the auction house’s Classic Auction Winter 2019 collection are 32 Steelers-related items, headed by the Swann jersey and a 2000 game-worn jersey by Hall of Fame running back Jerome Bettis.

The auction began this week and concludes Feb. 1 on Lelands.com.

The Swann jersey already has gotten a high bid of $13,310. The Bettis jersey, which he wore in at least four games during the 2000 season, has a $4,287 high bid.

Among the other items up for auction are a 2016 James Harrison bumblebee jersey ($2,928 bid), a 2001 Kordell Stewart jersey ($2,200 bid) and a 2005 James Farrior jersey ($1,832 bid).

Some of the proceeds from the sale of apparel from the Steelers archive will be donated to the Chuck Noll Foundation for Brain Research.

Among the items that have not received bids are apparel once worn by Le’Veon Bell and Antonio Brown. A Bell jersey from the 2013 season that was worn when he scored his first NFL touchdown hasn’t received a $5,000 opening bid. A 2015 practice jersey worn by Bell also hasn’t received a $300 opening bid. A helmet from 2014 that Brown wore in training camp also has not generated a $500 opening bid.
